Are you ready to CHALLENGE yourself? Join us for our first BOOT CAMP CLASS this SATURDAY! Forecast looks great, all the snow will be melted and we are ready for SPRING. A portion of the class fee benefits the Friends of Linwood Park, so you get fit and help support the park! Details below:

All Level Boot Camp at 8AM

Kick off your weekend JUST RIGHT with Kim & Connie who will be leading an All Level Boot Camp on Saturday mornings this Spring through the Summer!
Push yourself in new ways from cardio relays to strength building circuits (and everything in between)! Bringing a community of people together to form a support system in reaching our goals, so bring friends, family, and neighbors and be ready to work up a good sweat. Learning moves you can take anywhere and finding your inner strength that is Stronger Than Your Excuses.
We will work for 45 minutes to an hour and be sure to stretch it out together as we finish. With challenging moves, we will also have modifications and adjustments for each exercise and person, giving you the personal training experience that pushes us along! Classes are $15 with 40% of the proceeds being donated to the Friends of Linwood Park! Win/win! No need to register, you can pay at the time of the class. This class will be Saturdays through the spring and summer. Please be sure to check for any weather cancellations on our facebook page or make sure you get our emails at linwood.park@gmail.com

From the Instructor, Kim: “I have worked at Fit Tribe in Havertown (small group training) and now, currently, I work at both the YMCA in Havertown and Focus Fitness in Bryn Mawr. I instruct group training boot camps, 1-on-1 personal training, Spin classes, TRX classes and combinations of them all. I have a AAAI certification and am working to get more certifications and better myself as an instructor!
My biggest reason I do this work is simply because of keeping people happy and getting them to form a community that keeps them wanting to come back and work together.”

SATURDAY APRIL 1ST – SPRING CUTBACK TAKE TWO

Our original cutback was postponed due to snow, ice, cold, and general nastiness so we have rescheduled for SATURDAY APRIL 1st from 9 AM – 12 PM. Come on out and help at the park! Join us to cut back the perennials so we can get ready for another year of a beautiful garden park! We need you! All welcome, kids too. Come for as long or as short as you can. Gloves and tools provided or bring your own. Snacks provided. Bring a refillable water bottle please ( trying to eliminate plastic water bottle waste). Thanks and see you in the Park!

SATURDAY APRIL 22ND – EARTH DAY CLEAN UP AND MULCHING

Earth Day is every day for us, but this year we decided to jump into the fray and actually do something on the actual Earth Day! We will be weeding, cleaning up and mulching the park. Never done any of these things before, you say? No worries, we will teach the proper mulching of just emerging perennials and long-standing trees ( hint, no mulch volcanoes!) and what is a weed and what is not a weed. Please join for as long or as short as you can! Gloves and tools provided or bring your own. Snacks provided. Bring a refillable water bottle please ( trying to eliminate plastic water bottle waste). Thanks and see you in the Park!

SATURDAY APRIL 22ND – BOOK READING WITH NAHJEE GRANT

Come Saturday afternoon for a book reading with local author Nahjee Grant ( check him out at https://coolsmartkid.com ) and visits by the LMPD community officers. Exact time TBA!

Save the date! ART FOR THE PARK IS BACK ON JUNE 17TH!

We will once again be holding an Art for the Park, fine print sale to benefit the Friends of Linwood Park on Saturday, June 17th from 5-7 pm. In addition to the wonderful prints, we will have several raffle items from local businesses and residents. Are you able to donate an item or a talent? Please contact us! Your name will be listed on all promotional material. We rely on the support of the neighborhood of Ardmore to keep Linwood Park a wonderful oasis, public garden, and public gathering space that welcomes all.

Thanks and think Spring!
