Rain Barrel Workshop 10/22/2011 @ LMT Building

by Dan Gale on October 20, 2011

Hi Friends of Linwood Park  -

The Lower Merion Township Environmental Advisory Council will sponsor a Rain Barrel Workshop on Saturday, October 22nd at 10 AM in the Board Room of the Township Administration Building, 75 E. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.

Using a rain barrel is a great way to reduce the impacts of stormwater runoff. By installing a rain barrel under your roof top gutters you can minimize the amount of stormwater runoff that leaves your property thus helping to reduce flooding. With all of the recent heavy rains, using a rain barrel is an easy and cost effective way to address problems with runoff. In addition, capturing rainwater and reusing it will also help to reduce your monthly water bill. You will also learn how to winterize your rain barrel at this workshop.

Kate Galer (Friends of Linwood Park President) is  running this workshop  and it ties nicely in with how Linwood Park decreases storm water run off. Please consider coming and getting a rain barrel! If you already have a rain barrel and just want more info you are welcome to come,  too.

The workshop is free and the cost to purchase a rain barrel is $68.90. To register, e-mail Andrea Campisi of the Township’s Building and Planning Department at acampisi@lowermerion.org or call (610) 645-6112.
